I was told that it's doable only from the Pc. But, the internal drive is not recognized and doesn't show. On Mac it connects to the Express and can be updated (by wire and wi-fi). However, I haven't succeeded to access the GPX file (or any files in the content of the device) from the computer.ġ. I have no complains about functionality and fast reaction. It works great on the road, it updates well through the Wi-Fi. I bought a new DriveSmart 66 unit from Garmin. I always could access GPX files connecting the unit directly to the computer (I work on both Win and MacOS platforms).

Darn, I did not know this).I have been using various GPS devices since 2004. (Life time map upgrade is valid only up to three years from the date of purchase. If your date of purchase is within three years, you should be able to update the maps. Now you should be able to see your device in left bottom corner.Double click the downloaded plugin file to install (follow the steps suggested by the installation program).Do not detach the GPS unit from the computer.Close all the browser windows (very important). You might see a notification to download a “Plugin”, click to download, note the location folder of the download. After login you might see “No device detected” at left bottom corner (I did).Plug in your device to the computer using the USB cable provided.Use only Google Chrome browser (for Windows). This is how I resolved the issue on Magellan RM 5202-LM. The GPS unit shall restart automatically on its own.Install the update in your GPS unit at once the installation is completed, disconnect the device right away.In case any Magellan GPS Update available for your GPS unit, they will be prompted right here on your screen. Choose OS X and check out the update now. Subsequently, right click upon the content manager icon located in the system tray in your Windows.
